Countbird is a bookkeeping firm in Kolkata, India, serving US CPA firms and small businesses. We work while our clients sleep, and we treat every file as if an investor, lender or auditor will read it next.
A note from the founder
I spent seven years in finance before starting Countbird, and in every role, the same thing decided how fast things moved: whether the books were clean.
At ICICI Bank, I managed corporate and wealth clients, and I saw how a credit approval could stall for weeks over a messy set of financials. As co-founder and COO of my family's trading business, I learned it from the inside: tightening our records and collections cut our receivables cycle from more than 90 days to under 30. In investment banking at AUM Capital Markets, I worked on equity fundraises for consumer brands, where diligence came down to whether the numbers could be trusted.
Good bookkeeping isn't glamorous, but everything else depends on it. US firms and businesses need it done accurately and on time, and many can't hire enough people to do it. Countbird does that work overnight, so it's ready by morning.
Every client can reach me directly. If something isn't right, tell me, and I'll fix it.

Every account is reconciled to its source. Anything we can't support goes on an open-items list, not into a suspense account.

Your data stays yours.
We work inside your software with our own logins. Nothing is kept on personal devices, and our access is removed within one business day when you ask.

Every period ends with a short summary of what we did, what's open and what we need from you.
